The other day, Alix came home with 40+, big, beautiful, sturdy tomato plants from our friends at Diggin’ Roots Farm (check out their blog on the sidebar). Looking ahead, we’re up for one day of rain and a week of warm, sunny weather and high, soil-warming temperatures. So yesterday, Rob and I did a mad and frantic planting of tomatoes at the ROCO site to get them in before the rain… involving no fewer than 10 wheelbarrows full of fluffy compost, lots of digging, lots of lime popsicles, lots of sweating and lots of sore back muscles as a reward. Thanks Rob! Thanks Sarah and Conner at Diggin’ Roots! And even though I never thought I’d say this… thank goodness it’s finally raining again!

What beautiful pictures of your garden! Wish I could visit and benefit from the goodies you have planted. We will most likely be in Portland in August in time to profit from all your hard work. Meanwhile I am beaming a lot of California Central Valley sunshine your way..
