Well, loyal Dirtbox followers… It’s official! As of today, we’re registered with the State of Oregon as an LLC, our seeds are in hand, and both our chicken flock and our Dirtbox garden space have doubled in size. We’re ready for Dundee Dirtbox, the sepal (oooh, sorry for the bad pun).

As you know, we now have new lamb mascots thanks to Alix and her maternal instincts. Meanwhile, (even though he started as an adorably cute creature), Haysus is acting like a horny teenager and will soon be a ‘gelded’ teen llama. Hopefully that will mellow him out and he’ll stop attacking our landlord.

But other than the llama drama, all is well and quiet at the Dirtbox. The soils are warming up, the crocuses and narcissus are starting to bloom and the hazelnuts are flowering. As much as we don’t want to admit it, there is actually a bit of quiet before the storm. We’d LIKE to be out there ‘getting started’. But chances are good, our first seeds won’t be planted for another month or so.

Soon, we’ll send out an email blast with product listings and signup sheets. If you want to be a part of our CSA this year, and aren’t already on our email list, drop us a line.  We love getting comments!

Stay tuned for some pics of the new chickens, the newly pruned grapevines and maybe even our new compost pile :).

Anxiously awaiting springtime,

Nadine and Alix.

But we’ll definitely have whiffleball, archery, dinners and hot tubbing. How does THAT sound?
