Holiday Gift Bags

December 28, 2009

By now, some of you have received your Dirtbox gift bags, and for the rest of you, they are on the way.

After some serious dedication and about 40 pages of sketches, Jon came up with an amazing Dirtbox logo for us. And then he spent a full evening drawing the logo on each gift bag (aka re-useable canvas bag)! So we are eternally grateful for his efforts.

More thanks go to our friend Caitlin for the Dirtbox pins that are attached to each bag, and to Micah, for making pretty much all the preserves that you’ll find in the bags. Thank you, thank you.

We hope everyone has/had a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to sharing next year (year #2 of the Dirtbox) with all of you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! They still look too pretty for me to open, but I’ll get over it. 🙂

OMG! you guys are the best! These are so sweet. The bag was in my living room for a week before Al told me that it was left for us by the Dirt Box fairy! 🙂 I’m so impressed with what you guys have achieved with the project in year one and WILL be more involved this upcoming year.
Hugs to all and HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s going to be a good one!

Sorry ladies, but can someone fill me in with what to do with the pickled green tomatoes? do you just pop them like you would a pickle from the jar? I’m sure they are delightful, I just want to make sure I’m doing this right. As always, THANK YOU!!!

You’re supposed to eat the pickled green tomatoes EXACTLY as follows.

    First, pop the lid.

Then, arrange the tomatoes on the table in a line one right next to the other.

Next, while making vacuum noises and imagining that you are an anteater, proceed to slurp up the little suckers one by one WITHOUT USING YOUR HANDS.

Lip smacking and chewing is recommended.

OR, you can elect to float a few of them in your Bloody Mary. Whichever you choose. Just be sure to be wearing the appropriate costume.

    much love,
