Apologies for the radio silence…

September 8, 2009

Hi Dirtboxers,

Between our crazy travel schedules, the blog has suffered a bit… but we’re back in full force and wanted to provide a bit of an update, photographically.

In general, everything is looking great. Especially after the high temps last week and the RAIN over the weekend. It looks like we got about an inch and a half at the farm, and things are responding very well. Here are some clips:

Tomato Forest! We have tomatoes coming out of our ears - cherry tomatoes, brandywine tomatoes, yellow ones, red ones, orange ones, pear-shaped ones! And they are delicious!

The flower beds are finally taking off. I had planned for these to be in full bloom for Rob and Chloe's wedding... looks like I was about a month off. Lesson learned.

Melons! We weren't all that optimistic about our melon luck this year, but we are pleasantly suprised by some serious growth out there. Look for some melons coming your way soon!

And the plum tree... never has there been a more prolific plum tree. It's a bit hard to tell from this picture, but those branches are seriously weighted down by hundreds (hundreds!) of plums!
