Local workshops

August 4, 2009

After doing a bit of research on preserving in honor of this week’s cucumbers, I was reminded of the plethora of awesome workshops available in this town. For example…

The city has been hosting a series of classes as part of what they are calling “Urban Growth Bounty”. Many have come and gone, but there is one coming up in September about preserving which sounds neat: http://www.portlandonline.com/bps/index.cfm?c=49224&

And Growing Gardens offers amazing workshops, but their upcoming classes seem to be full. I still want to direct you to their website, though, for future reference, since they are really the experts at a lot of this stuff: http://www.growing-gardens.org/portland-gardening-resources/workshops.php

Oregon Food Bank: http://oregonfoodbank.org/ofb_services/food_programs/EastsideLearningGardenworkshops.html

And this is a very appropriate and informative website, but their classes are all full! http://www.portlandpreserve.com/
