Official Share #1

July 13, 2009

Hello members!

By now, some of you will already have picked up your first official share, while others will hopefully hustle on over this evening before things start to lose their freshness…

Next week, bring your re-usable bags back to us, and we’ll cycle them back in.

As always, enjoy, and please send us feedback on what you liked, what you did with it, what we can do better, etc.

In your share, you will find:

Baggie of greens (chard and bok choy – be sure to give these an extra wash)

Bundle of herbs

Bundle of wildflowers (grab your bouquet from the vases and a hydrangea stem from the bucket)

Walla Walla onions (some interesting Walla Walla onion info here!)

Zucchini (we have it coming out of our ears)

Homemade Zucchini Bread (made by the lovely and talented Vanessa! See recipe below)

Kombuchawesome (even if you didn’t ask for it, just give it a try, because it’s awesome)

Homemade Strawberry Jam (made with local Kraemer Farms strawberries)

Zucchini Bread

One recipe that came to me right away when we picked up our share was refrigerator zucchini pickles — I actually have never made these, so have no recipe to recommend, but there are lots online. I’m going to try one soon!

Jon and I made some stuffed zucchini blossoms last night. They were tremendous… and a really easy recipe to follow… let me know if you’re interested in trying and I’ll save some blossoms for you.
